Topic: ​ Establishing a Safety Culture for Your Workplace

Having a safe and productive workplace is about more than establishing safety rules and putting guards on machines.  Studies show that our workers attitude and mindset have much more to do with having a safe workplace than the physical things we do to keep our employees safe.  Our speaker, Dennis Parnell, will discuss how we can establish a culture of safety in our companies.

Dennis serves as the Executive Director of the NC Safety Conference, Inc. since 2003 and Ex-officio Board member on all Regional Safety Councils sponsored by the NC Statewide Safety Conference, Inc.  Dennis retired in 2014 from the NC Industrial Commission where he served as Director of Safety Education for 12 years. Dennis retired in 2003 from the Roanoke Rapids Sanitary District where he spent 23 years as a water plant operator, maintenance supervisor and safety officer. He also is a member of various safety and health organizations in North Carolina. He has been in the safety field for more than 30 years.
