    This presentation will touch on the increase in sexual harassment claims filed with the EEOC in the wake of the #MeToo movement and the increased importance for employers to focus on preventing sexual harassment in their workplace. Covering the topics of harassment, hostile work environments, sexual harassment, verbal harassment, and retaliation, Steve will teach participants to recognize if harassment is occurring in their workplace, how to prevent harassment, and what to do if harassment claims are brought to Human Resources. 

    The presenter for the program is Steve Rowe, Attorney in the Rocky Mount office of Poyner Spruill, LLC.  Steve’s practice focuses in employment law. He has extensive experience representing employers in a wide variety of employment matters in state and federal courts and before the North Carolina Industrial Commission, United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, North Carolina Employment Security Commission, State of North Carolina Office of Administrative Hearings, United States Department of Labor, and the North Carolina Department of Labor.
